My biggest regret without Internet for the past 5 days, although rumors were around the week before.

I collected quite an assortment of YGO memorabilia over the years, but though I enjoyed all sorts of various things, my favorites were anything featuring three characters: Seto Kaiba, Marik Ishtar, and Yami Bakura. Yami Bakura was the most difficult to find merchandise for, so locating any was especially a triumph. X3

- I have stickers of Yami Bakura from both lines (the big square stickers and the smaller square and rectangle stickers); amusingly, I have doubles for a great number of the stickers, but I have no extras for any Yami Bakura stickers. Definitely rare.

- A shirt with Yami Yugi, Marik Ishtar, and Yami Bakura. *Thrilled* to discover that at Wal-Mart. There were three of it when I first saw it, and when I went back in a week or so, able to buy it, there was only one. **hugs it.**

I'm still trying to get hold of the following:

- Yami Bakura pin (from the original line that just said Yu-Gi-Oh! on the bottom; not the one with characters in triangles. However, if there is a pin of him in that line too, then I want it!)
- Hexors #10 (with Téa) and #12 (with Yami Bakura)
- Staks Magnets #33 (with Seto Kaiba), #50 (with Solomon Muto), and #52 (with Yami Bakura)

And anything else unique with Seto, Marik, and/or Yami Bakura. I have a long list of some of my collection somewhere, but it doesn't seem to be tagged yet.

Please let me know if you know where I can get MINT copies of the pin, Hexors, and/or magnets (yes, I'm always checking eBay) or if you know of any other interesting merchandise especially with Yami Bakura (like those collectible marbles. LOL, what the heck? Thanks to eBay I know of their existence, as well as the fact that there is one with Mai. Other than that, clueless).

And I consider Thief King the same character; totally interested in any merchandise with him, too. Or heck, with Ryou Bakura! Though I don't think anything was made for him except a blue-haired figure in a Japanese set. ;__;

The one thing I regret about Lead Me Through the Fire is that somehow my original vision for Duke and David got lost. They were supposed to have only met several years ago and to have only had a business relationship (despite the fact that David was prone to tease). Then they were supposed to have become close friends during the case they were trying to solve.

I don't know how or why, but somehow I abandoned that and had them know each other as kids. Though I tried to hold onto some of the original idea by having Duke keep David at arm's length and never really see him as a friend until the case, it wasn't the same.

I also realized that having them know each as kids took away one of the things I've found most fascinating about Duke for over six years---his status as a probable loner. In confusion and frustration I wrote two fics for a timeline I still want to continue, in which Duke expresses his hurt and feelings of betrayal over feeling like he was never part of Yugi-tachi. David is never mentioned in those fics and is probably only Duke's store manager in that timeline.

Anyway ... another reason I'm glad Lead Me Through the Fire is a timeline to itself. In my main timeline, I think I'm almost ready to intro David---but I will be following my original vision and he and Duke will not be close. That will eventually come. ♥

Somehow he looks different, and I have no idea why.

I wrote for Atem for the first time in years. I'm happy with how he came out. X3 I was told years ago that I wrote him woodenly, and when I read over old stuff recently, I saw it was true. XD; He always was very difficult for me. Recently, though, re-reading Pharaoh's Memory manga has really made the character come alive to me. I hope to attempt writing more for him in the future. X3

I think in the past, one of the only times I did not write him wooden was in Ballistic in Boston, where he had a "greater good" conflict. Yami Bakura, who was more of an anti-hero than a villain (as one can always expect in my fics), was being controlled by a force that caused him to go berserk and attack everyone. Atem was finally forced to kill him to break the control. ;__; He said he didn't want to do it, but had to for the greater good; there was no other choice.

Later, Yugi was held hostage by the crooks and Atem was given an ultimatum---save Yugi or save everyone else, basically. Then he was thrown into a quandary and ended up wondering if he had really killed Yami Bakura for the greater good or if his own dislike of the character had fueled his actions.

(And yes, Yami Bakura did make it back. XD; In my first timeline, he could make himself appear solid through the Millennium Ring and it was that form that Atem destroyed. So Yami Bakura possessed Bakura again for a while and then later on, apparently was able to use the Ring to make himself solid again. The Infinity Ring in my new timeline is similar, but with differences. He cannot revert to spirit form/go into the Infinity Ring, and if he is killed in that form, it is unlikely that he could simply utilize the Ring to help him make another.)

And Bakura is going to need to know at least a little bit of a language spoken during the Viking Age! **and found this interesting tidbit on the Scandinavian languages page.** In medieval times, speakers of all the Scandinavian languages could understand one another and they referred to it as a single language, called the "Danish tongue" until the 13th century in Sweden[6] and Iceland.[7] In the 16th century, Danes and Swedes still referred to North Germanic as a single language, which is stated in the introduction to the first Danish translation of the Bible and in Olaus Magnus' A Description of the Northern Peoples.

Is it conceivable Bakura could know a little bit of a Scandinavian tongue? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Germanic_languages It looks like it may need to be Icelandic, and if I remember correctly, that's the most difficult one.

Alternately, is there a different language in another country the Vikings conquered that Bakura might know a bit of?
